Improve safety and health at your workplace with the OSHA-NIOSH Small Business Checklist app. The app is a free tool that features checklists and other workplace safety and health resources for small businesses. The app was developed by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and is based on the OSHA/NIOSH Small Business Safety and Health Handbook.
The app includes the following features:
• Self-inspection checklists to help small businesses identify workplace hazards. The checklists are for general industry (manufacturing, retail services, etc.) and not for construction.
• Select favorite checklists relevant to your business.
• Add photos and comments to items within checklists.
• OSHA and NIOSH web resources available within checklists
• The checklist topics include safety and health programs, recordkeeping, electrical safety, ergonomics, fire protection, hazard communication, heat, lockout/tagout, machine guarding, forklifts, noise, confined spaces, PPE, respiratory protection, workplace violence, and young workers.
Information entered into checklists is saved to the device and not sent to or collected by OSHA, NIOSH, or other government agencies.
Sharing checklists between colleagues is being considered for a future version release.
